Flaws and All…Go Get Your Blessings!

Have you been dealing with a lot of personal circumstances that has led you to question your value of worth or spiritual gifts? Are afraid for someone to love you because of your past? Oh how fear can manipulate our thinking to hinder us to move forward. I read this book, Experiencing God’s Power in Your Ministry by Mary Southerland, and it definitely puts into perspective your worth, skills and abilities! Read an excerpt below:

“Over the years, when I’ve been tempted to sidestep obedience by pointing out my inadequacies and listing all the reasons I can’t do something God has asked me to do…Nothing is impossible or out of reach when you factor Him into the equation. Still, we are guilty of trying to convince Him that our weaknes exempt us from walking by faith and not by sight. We are not alone .

Noah got drunk.¬†Abraham was too old. Issac was a daydreamer. Jacob was a liar. Leah was ugly. Joseph was abused. Moses had a stuttering problem. Gideon was afraid. Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer. Rahman was a prostitute. Jeremiah and Timothy were too young. David had an affair and was a murderer. Elijah was suicidal. Isaiah preached naked. Jonah ran from God. Naomi was a widow. Job went bankrupt. John the Baptist ate bugs. Peter denied Christ. The disciples fell asleep while praying. Martha worried about everything. The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once. Zaccheus was too small. Paul was too religious ….” (p.32).

These illustrations are prime examples that no matter your feelings of inadequacy or past [eating bugs though John the Baptist?? Yuck LOL], God has a way of still using each one of you for the glory of His kingdom! Do not let the devil intimidate you on what is perceived shortcomings to most; because for every obstacle their lies an opportunity for VICTORY! Rise up and go get your blessing!
